Object Oriented Extension to Time Series Model
It has been widely observed that temporal semantics and functionality are often developed on an ad hoc basis, and the benefits of temporal databases research are rarely realised. In this paper we propose an independent temporal model, which embraces object oriented concepts and also show how UML can be used to model temporal business concepts.

ed Schema EXTENSION Figure 1: The concept of the abstraction mechanism An algorithm that factors out the common structure of two given schema de nitions has many uses. One useful application of this algorithm is that, ideally, one has to write software which is common to both schema 1 and 2 only once for the classes in the abstracted schema. Then, by extension, the software for schema 1 and 2 i...
متن کاملAspect-Oriented Programming—An Object-Oriented Extension
Aspect-oriented programming is an extension to object-orientation with the goal of separating the concerns of domain logic from application logic. The essay aims at looking at aspect-oriented from a theoretical perspective, trying to place it within the existing framework provided by object-orientation. The first section is an introduction to objectorientation. Here I will present the most comm...
متن کاملAn Object-Oriented Data Model for a Time Series Management System
The analysis of time series is a central issue in economic research and many other scientific applications. However, the data management functionality for this field is not provided by general-purpose DBMSs. Therefore, we propose a data model of a specialized Time Series Management System (TSMS) which accounts for these needs. The model is centered around an object-oriented kernel that offers t...
متن کاملSchematic: A Concurrent Object-Oriented Extension to Scheme
A concurrent object-oriented extension to the programming language Scheme, called Schematic, is described. Schematic supports familiar constructs often used in typical parallel programs (future and higher-level macros such as plet and pbegin), which are actually dened atop a very small number of fundamental primitives. In this way, Schematic achieves both the convenience for typical concurrent ...
